Early Preschool

Our Early Preschool program serves children 2-3 and our preschool program serves children 3-4.

Welcome to our Early Preschool Classroom and Preschool Classrooms

Early Preschool is a transitional classroom for children between the ages of 2 and 3 years. This classroom has 14-16 children and 3 teacher teams.

Early Preschool classrooms are an opportunity for gaining confidence and independence, interpersonal skills and toilet learning before moving into the preschool program. These classrooms are upstairs and utilize the large playground for outdoor activities. Experience Curriculum themes help the children to explore new ideas and small group activities.

Our Preschool Program is for children between the ages of 3 and 4. These classrooms have 19 children and 3 teacher teams. The larger group size helps the children become ready for the larger groups of kindergarten and beyond. In these classrooms small group activities begin to bring academics into their exploration in a new way. The teachers use Experience Curriculum themes to draw out the curiosity and inquiry from each of the children.

Routines for Preschool

The Early Preschool and Preschool programs are set up to prepare children for the school experience while still allowing freedom to play and explore. The areas of learning will have more materials, and the children will experience more independence in play. Everything is kid-size! We put books and toys within easy reach of little hands. Instead of waiting for an adult to bring a book over, kids can kick off story time all on their own.

Social Emotional

This age is moving from parallel play to social play. This means there may be more conflicts and some big emotions. The teachers are there with our social emotional curriculum to help them navigate these new situations.

Pre-Academics through Play

Each area provides opportunities to learn academic concepts in very child friendly ways. From blocks and building to writing your name on your art work of the day, these skills will be a natural progression in your student’s day.
