Toddler Classrooms

Our Toddler classrooms serve children ages 12 months to 36 months.

Fostering Social, Academic, and Language Development

In the toddler classrooms, children begin to learn routine and the schedule becomes a bit more structured. Toddler classrooms have large and small group activities where social and academic skills are introduced. Fine motor muscles are developing and being strengthened and language development is a large focus for these age growth. Toilet learning is introduced in these classrooms when your child is approaching 2 years, or the time is right for the family.

Toddler Program

Coordination and Movement

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. Everything is kid-size! We put books and toys within easy reach of little hands. Instead of waiting for an adult to bring a book over, kids can kick off story time all on their own.

Language Explosion

As language development is essential at this age, teachers are providing many activities involving language. Adults will use sign language, and model for children how to use their words to communicate their needs and feelings. Requesting and labeling the materials throughout the classroom, as well as labeling feelings and routines helps to expand the child’s vocabulary.

Exploration

The toddler classroom and curriculum is designed to allow the child space to explore materials with all their senses. The teacher individualizes the experiences to create challenges so that your child is constantly learning while having fun playing in a social environment.
